Eastleigh's Best Takeaways: From Curry Houses to Kebab Shops
Eastleigh has a strong takeaway offering. Here's where to order from — and what to order when you get there.
Eastleigh's takeaway scene is anchored around the town centre and Leigh Road, with a dense cluster of Indian, Turkish, Chinese, and pizza options. Delivery is available on most of the major platforms, but collection usually gets you fresher food faster.
Indian
The cluster of Indian restaurants and takeaways near Leigh Road and Market Street is the strongest point of Eastleigh's food scene. Several have been operating for 20+ years, which in takeaway terms is a mark of genuine quality. Spice of India, Taste of India, and Zaiqa are all worth trying — the biryanis and baltis are particularly good.
Turkish
Eastleigh has two strong Turkish options offering doner, adana, and shish kebabs alongside wraps and meze. Both are open late on weekends. The lamb adana shish is the order at both.
Pizza
Domino's covers the town centre for speed and consistency. For better pizza, several independent pizza places have opened in the last few years — check Deliveroo or Uber Eats for current options as the market moves fast.
Chinese
A handful of Chinese takeaways operate around the town centre and in the suburban areas. The range is typical of a Hampshire market town — crispy duck, sweet and sour, black bean. Nothing groundbreaking but reliable.
Fish and Chips
For fish and chips, the best-regarded chippies are in the residential areas rather than the town centre. Ask locally or check reviews for the current favourite — the quality in this category varies significantly by fryer.
Ordering tips
- Delivery apps work fine but charge a premium. Collection from most Eastleigh takeaways is worth doing — parking is easy off-peak.
- Friday and Saturday nights see long waits from around 7pm; order by 6:30pm or after 9pm.
- Most Indian takeaways will adapt heat levels on request.
